my insomniac song

I love coffee, I love cups
I'm an insomniac coffee, cup, music, dogs, beetles lover.

Yo! Where's my Dung?!

I dig, I dig
I dig, dig, dig
I roll, I roll
I roll, roll, roll
I rub, I rub
I rub, rub, rub
my dung, my dung
my dung, dung, dung

Listen

Listen

Listen to the trees, listen to the flowers
listen to the wind, listen to the stars too
Listen to the things your eyes won't tell you

Ouroboros Ophis

Ouroboros Ophis

At the end is where I begin
Singing a song of Recreation and Death
The flowers may wither under the veiled moon
But at dawn another budding shall bloom

Manifested Troubles

After a long day of drawing, I finally feel a lot better.
I also found a new way of illustrating. I guess lately
I've been feeling that most of my end products look
more sketches-like than final outcome. But this, this
is indeed looking different, like I've finally wrapped
it up! Woohoo! Happy alas!

Love,
NN

The Final Outcome

So this is it. The final outcomes.
I need to think of how to improve
on these soon. It was such a
beautiful and interesting topic
to talk about, yet I didn't manage
to give it the best it deserves.

Furthermore, life is a never-ending
project, isn't it? I am like a heart-sick
lover now, missing my ex because
I didn't see how wonderful he was
and now I am soaked with tears of
regrets.

Snapped

Took some photographs today.
Ever since I sit through another
lecture about Daniel Eatock, I
got influenced with the idea of
taking photographs of strange
finds daily.

Honestly, Daniel Eatock is just
one of those artists who seem
to just point out a weird/strange
find. Another person that I kind
of admire more would be Tony
Davidson. His weird finds are
hilarious, odd, and sometimes
it just makes you feel more
interested and attracted to the
objects, things, or place he
photographed.

Here are 3 that I've attempted to
begin this new-found habit with!

Personally, if you ask me which one i'd like the
most, I'd choose the last one. It makes you wonder.

Shawn's Big Fish

So the storyline finally arrived. I'm actually pretty thankful,
it was an adorable story. Shawn's Big Fish, the story revolves
around a polar bear name Shawn. One morning, Shawn's mother
and his two brothers went to the pond to learn fishing. But
the entire trip didn't really do any good for Shawn. His brothers
caught fishes but not Shawn. He got teased, he was upset, he was
sad and Mama Polar Bear tried to console him. He woke up the
next morning determined to catch himself a fish. So he practiced
and practiced, day after day. Finally, he caught himself a fish..
A BIG FAT FISH! Happy, and excited, he brought the fish home
and he was praised for his determination, perseverance.

A very common moral-of-the-story.

Creating the characters, clothing them and making them come
back to life is the most fun part for me. At first, there was a lot
of feedback from Amy (my client), that Shawn and his brothers
looks like Cats. I was highly discouraged and disheartened when
I heard that. Therefore, I learned that everyone sees things very
differently. The Polar Bears that I see is as unique as this.

We eventually came to an agreement to use this Polar bear
because after all I am the illustrator and I am supposed to design
the character myself, not be told how to. Everything turned out
wonderful at the end, and Amy was really happy. So, all is well!

I had a good fun out of this project! I'd definitely do this again
if given another chance~ Wooohoo!

So glad, we had this opportunity to illustrate a storybook.
This is a really good experience to have. Thank you,
LASALLE!

Sitting right

Sometimes, you just accidentally became creative about something. Or one thing you do leads to another. It can be pretty surprising.

A little song

I woke up today feeling strangely tired. I just want to bury my face in my pilllows, they smell like my hair, they smell like me.. Leaving the bed feels like I am leaving parts of me behind. It's so heartbreaking and sad. Of course I don't always feel this way, but today.. Today is different.

So I got up, had a quick shower, melting cigarette in one hand and the rest of my body in the running shower..put on a new set of pressed shirt with shorts, and went to pack my bag. Brought along my guitar as well. I'm gonna name him Raphael. For some reason, the name sticks with such a beautiful feurengel.

A little photo session before I end it off. Today is a day to be different :) good kind of different.

Blind willow, sleeping woman

Today I decided to stay home and abort the idea of swimming. 'Forget about it,' the voice inside my head said.. 'It's too hot outside, you might get a heatstroke before getting into the pool..' And my headache began to throb deeply, like an irregular rhythm of an awkward person knocking on my heavy, rosewood door knock, knock... knock..knock, knock. knock, knock, knock...

So I turn on the air-conditioner and the table lamp in my study room, sat down politely by my desk and continue my new Murakami book. Just a few minutes into the book, I was drawn into the ingenious work of art. Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman this is one book I will definitely recommend to all my novel loving friends.

I am now at chapter 5, and now it is time to put my beloved book down. Essay beckons. The horror awaits. My prediction? Sleep is not possible tonight.

Growth

Looking back on my old drawings, it is very very strange.
I know this person, the person I was when I drew them,
but now I can't really recognize this person anymore.
Haha, so strange!

And so I continue to grow, the way I project
changes, but the person I am became more
sensitive to what I see. I want to draw them
all down.

Digital painting with a mouse, I was over-challenging
myself. But lucky me, it turned out okay.
Else my insomnia would come back and haunt
me until I do this well!

This cat is probably the tipping point of where I'm gonna
go afterwards. I was criticized for my line qualities, and
the cat was my experiment and my own workshop.
And insomnia really did haunt me.

I'm a child waiting to grow.
I need a guided mastery !

Sprinkles and dust powder wala magic!

The collection spray exercise. You get beautiful results out of it.
I will try this again for sure, what an experience! xx

The Collection Begins

In this new year, many things shifted. We have a new breakthrough in our assignments. Some of us learned to be so much stronger, independent, and creative. I have seen amazing pieces made by my classmates. This is always so refreshing, growing along with so many talented people. Happy 2013 to me and my fellow classmates.
